Next week, Bay Lake Elementary will welcome its first students into their classrooms. But on Friday, Aug. 12, the public can take a sneak peek at the school.

Pam Gould, District 4 school board member, will also be on site.

Bay Lake Elementary is in Horizon West’s Lakeside Village, where it will be relieving other Horizon West overcrowded Horizon West elementary schools.

The elementary school has a similar design to Independence Elementary School, a school that opened last year in Horizon West.

Myrlene Kimble is Bay Lake’s principal, who comes to the school from Catalina Elementary. She hopes to host more events, like a food truck night after school starts, to bring the community in to the school.
