As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, hundreds of people gathered in Hamlin for its first All-American Flag Parade.
The event featured a flagpole dedication, a 1-mile American flag walk and a time capsule burial to be opened during America’s 300th anniversary.
Attendees also heard from the Horizon West American Legion Post 419 and Daughters of the American Revolution, with a special historic appearance from the American Revolution: Abigail Adams.
The patriotic ceremony attracted residents and visitors ready to celebrate America, with positive attitudes, respect and stylish patriotic outfits.
Face painting, caricatures, balloon artists, hopscotch, basketball and more were available to children present at the event.
MissingLink Entertainment and the Florida Turnpike Band provided guests with live music and entertainment.
Several food trucks were in attendance, as well.
Attendees received t-shirts and American flags to take home.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Horizon West American Legion Post 419, supporting local veterans and patriotic programs in our community.
