The Orange County Sheriff's Office arrested Gregory Richard Hoole of Horizon West Wednesday, July 15, on charges of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, child abuse and criminal mischief.

According to OCSO, Hoole ran a stop sign on Black Rail Street, Windermere, and drove toward an 11-year-old child on an e-bike. While the child was able to jump onto the grass, his leg and e-bike were hit.

Hoole then is said to have gotten out of his car, slapped the child on the arm, grabbed the child's cellphone and smashed it on the ground.

Hoole then called the police and said the 11-year-old and his friends were harrassing him.

According to OCSO, surveillance video captured the occurrence.

The 11-year-old told officers he knew Hoole from an incident that took place during the Fourth of July.

Hoole currently is being held in the Orange County jail, and his bond was set at $7,650.
