Orange County and its partners are updating their Multi-Jurisdictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, also know as the Local Mitigation Strategy.
The plan identifies and describes disaster risks along with specific actions to take to reduce those threats, and be eligible for additional grant funding.
Because of the current five-year update to the plan, the county is asking residents to take a survey to help it identify those hazards.
The survey asks questions including what residents are worried about, such as cyberterrorism, wildfires, diseases and pandemics, if there are certain places, buildings or neighborhoods that should be prioritized for hazard mitigation actions, and more.
The feedback collected will ensure the county and its partners have a clear understanding of what to prioritize as part of its mitigation strategy.
