OCOEE  Ocoee Police Chief Charlie Brown announced this afternoon the Florida Department of Law Enforcement has been investigating an incident from Feb. 6 involving two Ocoee officers.

Officers Carlos Anglero and Stephanie Roberts responded at about 12:55 a.m. to a 911 call from the 400 block of Belhaven Falls Drive, where someone was confronted and officers fired shots, Brown said.

"Upon arrival, Officer Carlos Anglero and Officer Stephanie Roberts encountered an individual armed with a firearm and open fired," Brown said. "No one was injured. It was later determined that the individual in the home was the actual homeowner. I contacted the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and requested they perform an independent investigation into the entire incident."

Agents will determine what events led to the dispatch of Anglero and Roberts to that street and why the encounter led to them firing into the home, Brown said.

"Officer Carlos Anglero and Officer Stephanie Roberts, both eight-year veterans, will remain on administrative leave until the conclusion of the investigation," he said. "Once the investigation is concluded and I have been provided with all the facts, I will take appropriate action."

No further information is available at this time.
