ORLANDO  At 5:40 a.m. Feb. 17, Winter Garden 41-year-old Steven Bell was driving out of a driveway at 4929 N. Orange Blossom Trail in his semi, preparing to turn left onto the road, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Orlando 27-year-old Ladarius Lathan was driving his car northbound on Orange Blossom Trail while Bell's trailer was stationary, blocking both northbound lanes. Lathan's car crashed into the left side of the trailer, ultimately wedged under it.

Lathan suffered serious injuries, so officials transported him to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Bell emerged unscathed.

FHP officials said alcohol was not a factor and both drivers were wearing seat belts.

This crash remains under investigation, and charges are pending.
