UPDATE: Man arrested in shooting of pregnant woman in Winter Garden

UPDATE:

Deputies arrested 25-year-old Jeremiah Patrick for attempted first-degree murder. Patrick and the victim were in a relationship. 

WINTER GARDEN  A 33-year-old pregnant woman is in stable condition after being shot in Winter Garden early Tuesday morning.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of an aggravated battery via firearm on Trumbo Street at 4:16 a.m. July 12. A then-unknown suspect drove by and shot at her while she was outside her home before fleeing in the car, according to OCSO.

The unidentified victim, who is eight months pregnant, was transported to Winnie Palmer Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury and is reported to be in stable condition. Her unborn child was not harmed in the shooting.

Detectives found upon further investigation that it was not a drive-by shooting as the victim originally said. They are questioning a man in connection with the shooting, and there are no other suspects involved.

The investigation is ongoing.
