Winter Garden is one step closer to getting their custard.
The site plan of the proposed Culver’s at 13575 Colonial Drive was approved June 9 by Winter Garden commissioners.
Culver’s, a chain known for its custard and butter burgers, will operate at the corner of South Dillard Street and West Colonial Drive, along with a Wawa.
The site plan, includes the installation of asphalt drive lines, a driveway leading to Colonial Drive, a landscaped median, utilities, parking and landscaping improvements for the whole property.
Commissioner Bobby Olszewski announced that he resigned his seat as the District 3 Winter Garden commissioner. His resignation will be effective December 6, 2016.
Olszewski is currently campaigning for the District 1 seat on the Orange County Board of County Commissioners.
“Good Lord willing on December 6, 2016, I’ll be sworn in as Orange County commission for District 1,” he said.
Olszewski said that he and the city clerk looked into some statistics, finding that since he began serving as a commissioner in 2012, 99% of the commission’s votes have been unanimous.
“I think that’s a testament to the work and the congeniality that we have here with Mayor Rees and the rest of the commissioners,” he said.
Commissioners reappointed Marvin Vasquez and David Buckles to Code Enforcement and Nuisance Abatement Board, and appointed Rachel Saunders to the canvassing board.
