LAKE AVALON  After a rapid, faraway BusinessForce debate at Orlando Museum of Art and West Orange Chamber of Commerce's debate luncheon, Social Fruit Marketing is hosting a free District 1 Orange County commissioner candidate debate in West Orange County.

Jeff Loeffert, one of the debate moderators, said the idea was to have a local forum between Oakland businesswoman Betsy VanderLey and Winter Garden Commissioner Bobby Olszewski that everyone could access for free.

"It would be great if you could come out and support us and get engaged on topics such as schools, jobs, commercial and residential development, infrastructure, roads, Parks & Rec and any other topics that are important to you," Loeffert said. "This event is being put on by residents who are not endorsed by any party, just folks who want to come out and get residents engaged with their community leaders."

This event will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at Harvest Korean Presbyterian Church at 16796 Davenport Road, Winter Garden, and is scheduled to end at 7:45 p.m. Additional moderators are Keith Greiveldinger and Jenni Moon.

An open floor question session will occur, but moderators also want residents to submit questions in advance. Contact Loeffert at [email protected].

Although the event is free, seating is limited, so ticket reservation is requested. For registration, click here.
