OACS honors MLK

Students at Oakland Avenue Charter School showed their creative side in the school’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. event.

The fifth-graders at Oakland Avenue Charter School participated in an MLK collage contest, and the winners were announced Tuesday, Jan. 16.

The individual top-prize winners were Ethan Khan, first; Christian Rogers, second; and Kevin Perez, third.

Team prizes were given to, Cali Jones, Ameera Hansraj and Sophia Baker, first place; Nathan Mitchell, Alexis Guare and Adam Bissessar, second; and Madison Kob, Josie Ferrell and Michaela Iappaluccio, third.

In the Most Creative category, Christian Rogers and Kevin Perez won individual awards; and the team of Cali Jones, Ameera Hansraj and Sophia Baker won the award for the best team.
