Obituary: Lawrence Hugh Berry

Lawrence Hugh Berry passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018, at home, peacefully and surrounded by his loving family.

Larry was born in Orlando, Florida, on Feb. 12, 1938, the third child of Annie and G.B. Berry. 

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie; his children, Sheila, Laura (Doug Joseph), Luana (Ronald Folse) and Stephen (Carol, née Fomby); and his siblings, Mary Green and William Berry; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A proud graduate of the University of Michigan, Larry joined the Marine Corps, as an officer, to serve our country domestically and in Vietnam, Okinawa and Cuba.

He earned his master’s and specialist degrees in education from Rollins and Florida Atlantic colleges. He brought his leadership skills and love of team sports to hundreds of children in Orlando public schools and enjoyed protecting and serving guests of Walt Disney World as security host.

He lived life to the fullest — he loved sports, traveling the globe with Stephanie and taking photos of his adventures, family and friends.
