A portion of Winter Garden Vineland Road near Windermere High School will be closed from 5 a.m. Oct. 6 to 5 a.m. Oct. 7 for infrastructure repairs.

Part of the northbound travel lanes of Winter Garden Vineland Road near Windermere High School will be closed so workers can make repairs to a water line. Northbound traffic will be rerouted onto the southbound lanes of the road. Traffic will be flowing in both directions on the southbound lane of Winter Garden Vineland Road during the repair, said Orange County Utilities spokesperson Jamie Floer.

“The work is scheduled to start at 5 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, and (is expect to) be completed at 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7,” Floer said. “The team expects to finish the water pipe valve repairs and will be using a portion of the southbound lane for northbound traffic. OCSO (Orange County Sheriff’s Office) will also be on-site for additional awareness.”

Floer said workers will be replacing a valve for a potable water pipe. Water services will not be impacted. The repair is expected to be completed before the school day Monday, Oct. 8, so the repair will not impact school traffic.
