Milton A. Davis, age 84, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018. From his birth in December 1933 in Broome County, New York, to his passing on Sunday, Sept. 30, in Ocoee, Florida, he will be remembered for his calloused hands and tender heart.

The tough exterior came from being the youngest of 12 children of Grace and Julian Davis. He worked on the family farm from a very young age until he joined the U.S. Army where he served honorably in the 1st Infantry Division until 1955. He arrived in Ocoee in 1963 and spent the next 40 years as a truck driver, mechanic and eventually the owner of Milt’s Auto Repair in Winter Garden/Ocoee until he retired in 1998.

The tender heart, no doubt, came along in 1955 when he married Alice R. Stilwell in Greene, New York, and they had three daughters, Darlene Walker, Cheryl Andrews and Bonnie Reper. The rugged exterior faded even more when he became “Papa” to his three grandsons, Jeremy Milton Reper, Miles Davis Minor and Richard Thomas Reper II.

After Alice’s passing in 2002, Milt remarried Teresa Arnold in Ocoee who has three daughters, Donna Smothers, Sharon Gentry and Angie Nattress; and grandchildren, Annabelle Thomasson, Seth Carpenter and Arlin Carpenter.

It would bring the surviving family much comfort if you would join them at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Church At The Cross, 700 Good Homes Road, Orlando, FL 32818, for a time of listening to and/or telling your favorite “I remember the time...” Milt stories.
