Rose M. Green, age 90, resident of Winter Garden, died peacefully on Saturday morning, Sept. 22, 2018, with her family by her side.

Rose was born in Corning, New York, on Jan. 3, 1928, the daughter of Thomas and Angeline Giardina. In 1948 she was crowned the Crystal City Queen of Corning, New York, celebrating the Corning Centennial anniversary.

She married Fred W. Green on Jan. 27, 1951. Later in life they moved to Florida, where they called home. She was an avid Christian who loved the Lord. She was the eldest of 12 children and the mother of three.

She spent most of her career working with the 7-Eleven accounting office. For the past eight years she volunteered at Health Central in Ocoee. She loved to give to others in any way she could. She will be remembered by her loved ones and friends in many ways, especially for her famous banana bread.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Angeline Giardina; siblings, Charlie, Gracie, Connie and Ann Marie; husband, Fred W. Green; and daughter, Sharon L. Towns.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Wall (Victor) of Apopka; son, Fred Green (Jennifer) of Indianapolis; grandson, Jason Green (Holly) of Wilmington; granddaughters, Tiffany Aagaard (Derek) of Longwood, Ashley Welton (Craig) of Fuquay Varina, Amber Wall of Apopka, Haden Green of Indianapolis, Mia Green of Indianapolis; and several great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Arrangements are being handled by DeGusipe Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Life, at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at Journey Christian Church, 1965 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Apopka, FL 32703. Per her request, please wear red, white and/or blue to the service.
