The West Orange Chamber of Commerce has been working to make doggie-friendly dining options in all of represented municipalities, and that now is a reality.

The city of Ocoee adopted its own ordinance, similar to that of Oakland, Windermere, Winter Garden and Orange County. The rule allows restaurants to decide if they want their outdoor patios to be dog-friendly.

The chamber began this initiative in 2016 when it learned that several member eateries had been approached by the state health department for allowing dogs to dine with their owners; these establishments did not have the appropriate Orange County license.

“We are thrilled to have all West Orange County as a doggie dining-friendly place,” said Stina Duva, West Orange Chamber president and CEO. “This just adds to all the other reasons why West Orange is the fastest growing residential community in Orange County.”
