Despite falling 4-3 to Seminole County on a wild pitch Tuesday, June 4, Winter Garden Squeeze’s Wesley Faison (Texas State University) went 1-for-2, with his lone hit being a two-run homer.

1. Starting Saturday, June 15, West Orange Little League All-Star teams will take on the best of District 14, as they participate in the district tournaments for each age group. The schedule is as follows: 9/10 All-Star (hosted by Dr. Phillips) from June 15 to 20; 10/11 All-Star (hosted by Winter Garden) from June 21 to 27; 11/12 All-Star (hosted by Winter Garden) from June 21 to 27; 13/14 All-Star (hosted by Winter Garden) from June 21 to 27; and 15/16 All-Star (hosted by Dr. Phillips) from June 15 to 20.

 

2. In the Winter Garden Squeeze’s 8-6 win over Seminole County Wednesday, June 5, shortstop/second baseman Marcus Judd led the way at the plate for the Squeeze. He went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI while also scoring once. Five other Squeeze players brought in one run apiece. The win bumped the Squeeze to 2-3 on the season.

 

3. Throughout the summer the Winter Garden Fencing Academy — located in downtown Winter Garden — welcomes kids from elementary through high school to give the sport of fencing a try. For more information, contact Winter Garden Fencing Academy at (407) 347-3807.

 

4. Despite falling 4-3 to Seminole County on a wild pitch Tuesday, June 4, Winter Garden Squeeze’s Wesley Faison (Texas State University) went 1-for-2, with his lone hit being a two-run homer. He also accounted for a run. The game was Faison’s first of the season for the Squeeze.

 

5. Central Florida Archery Inc. in Winter Garden is offering an “Intro to Archery” program for kids ages 7 to 12. For $30, kids will get the chance to take in an hourlong session that includes 30 minutes of technical training and 30 minutes of shooting.
