Military veterans and members of the community came together in downtown Winter Garden on Saturday, Nov. 16 for the third annual Challenge 22 event organized by the Hugh T. Gregory American Legion Post 63. Hundreds took part in the 2.2-mile ruck walk around downtown Winter Garden that is the heart of the event, which also included a pinning ceremony for Vietnam veterans, block party and live musical performances. A Vietnam & Global War Memorial Wall was on display at the American Legion Post 63 throughout the event. Challenge 22 is held to raise awareness of veteran suicides.
