Sandbags available in Winter Garden, Ocoee

Tropical Storm Isaias is expected to dump rain on Central Florida this weekend.

Tropical Storm Isaias is expected to provide moderate winds and heavy rain starting this weekend, and the cities of Winter Garden and Ocoee have sandbags available.

 

WINTER GARDEN

City residents can pick up filled sandbags at the Public Works Complex, 8800 W. Bay St. They will be distributed from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, July 30, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, July 31. There is a limit of 10 bags per household, and residents must show proof of residency.

 

OCOEE

Self-serve sandbags will be available Thursday, July 30, through Friday, Aug. 7, at the Ocoee Public Works Department, 301 Maguire Road. The distribution site will be open seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The city will provide the unfilled bags and other supplies but should take a shovel. There is a limit of 10 sandbags per household, and residents must show a valid Ocoee ID. Face masks are required.
