Windermere council members are set to decide whether to award two stormwater-design contracts to Kimley-Horn and Associates.

Approval of the contracts are on the agenda for the Tuesday, Feb. 9, Town Council meeting. The first is for the Butler basin — Butler Street and Seventh Avenue — stormwater-maintenance improvements, with a cost not to exceed $163,647. The other is for the Bessie basin — Bessie Street and Ninth Avenue — stormwater-maintenance improvements, with a cost not to exceed $216,264.

According to town documents, staff submitted requests for quotations for both projects, but only Kimley-Horn responded.

Also on the agenda for discussion is approval of the pedestrian bridge concept design. The general consensus from a Jan. 26 workshop was in favor of the bowstring concept with a painted-black finish. The bridge will replace the current one at South Lake Butler Boulevard and Dirt Main Street.

Town Council meets at 6 p.m. at Windermere Town Hall, 520 Main St. The meeting also will be livestreamed on Zoom. Click here to view the agenda and Zoom link.
