West Orange High School alumnus and Winter Garden native, Dexter Williams, has officially returned to the Green Bay Packers after signing with the team Wednesday, Aug. 10.

"Being back at Green Bay is a blessing," Williams said to his former high school football coach, Joe Light— with whom he still maintains a close relationship. "It feels good to be back where everything started for me. I understand what happened before was a business decision."

Prior to returning to the Packers, Williams most recently played in the USFL as a running back for the Philadelphia Stars, but is now looking forward to getting back onto the field with the team that initially drafted him as the No. 194 pick in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

"When I came back though, we just picked up like a family," he mentioned to Light. "Aaron Jones mentored me as a rookie, we are real close. It's great to be back with these guys. I've been able to pick up the offense pretty quickly. There is a new offense coordinator, but not much has changed. I'm looking forward to making the most of the opportunities I'm given.

"I went through the workout, and didn't know I was about to sign. A-Rod (Aaron Rodgers) came up and told me I was signing. He told me it was great to have me back in Green Bay."
