The W.O. Baseball Booster Club will host its second Annual Baseball Booster Golf Scramble at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge.

“We are hosting it to repair and (help) build up the baseball program at (the school),” board member Anita Bell said. “It has suffered a few different coaches, and even some damage when one of the hurricanes came through three years ago, … so we want to refurbish it and make it a place (where) the players feel proud of the facility and want to play.”

For those who would like to participate in the golf tournament, prices are the following: $150 for individual golfers and $550 for foursomes.

There are myriad prizes available, and people can either participate in the golf tournament or buy raffle tickets as well as take part of the silent auction.

“The prices we have are limitless,” Bell said. “We have everything from hotel stays, signed baseballs from MLB players, massage packages, (among others). We get so much donated.”

All proceeds from the event will go to repairs to the Warriors' baseball field, building a roof over the batting cages, and make the clubhouse a place where athletes can hang out after school if they decide to stay directly for practice instead of going home.
