Members of the band rocked fun outfits during the performance.
CFCArts Chief Executive Officer Terrance Hunter addressed the audience prior to the start of the performance.
The band was composed, in its majority, of brass instruments.
Saxophone players were a huge part of the performance.
A number of saxophone players performed elaborated solos during the performance.
The musical arrangements of the songs would have not been complete without a bass player.
Music Director and Conductor Justin Muchoney carried fun interactions with the audience during the performance.
All of the band members are volunteers who get together once a week for 90 minutes to practice the repertoire.
The background of the stage changed colors after each song, alternating between green, red and blue.
Every saxophone player who performed a solo made it unique in their own way.
The guitarist of the band also performed a solo during the concert.
The stage was set up in a way that all musicians were able to see their conductor while they played.
During their solos, performers were encouraged to stand up so the audience would know who was playing.
Every song offered a unique arrangement that transmitted different emotions to the audience.
The stage was decorated with Christmas trees to provide the concert a more cozy Christmas atmosphere.
After every solo, the audience cheered and clapped to encourage the performers and let them know they had enjoyed it.
CACFArts provided two members of their "Elf: The Broadway Musical" cast the opportunity to perform a song for the audience.
AuBryahnna Sherrod and Jacob Steele talked to attendees and offered them candy canes spreading the CFCArts holiday spirit.
CFCArts members Lee Arnold and Tommy Mendoza offered snacks at the concessions stand during the intermission.
The month of December just rolled in and brought with it the Christmas spirit!
The Central Florida Community Arts (CFCArts) performed a beautiful jazz-infused Christmas music performance to the Central Florida community the night of Friday, Dec. 2, at the Lake Buena Vista High School Auditorium.
"A Big Band Christmas is exactly what it sounds like: familiar, fun holiday music performed with creative and exciting jazz twists," wrote Justin Muchoney, CFCArts Music Director and Conductor and Vice-president of Creative and Production on the event's flyer. "You'll know just about every tune in this concert, but you've probably never experienced them quite this way."
The repertoire consisted on classic Christmas tunes such as Deck the Halls with Jingle Bells, Let it Snow! Let is Snow! Let it Snow!, Comfort and Joy, Rudoplh the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Adeste Fidelis, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and more.
During the event, those in attendance were encouraged to clap every time they listened to a part of a song — or a solo — they really liked, as Muchoney said: "This is jazz, if you like it, we'd like to hear it!"
CFCArts is already working on its next productions. One that they introduced during the event was "Elf: The Broadway Musical," which will take place Dec. 16 and 17 at Trinity Preparatory School.
