Eight Waves is hosting a Community Birthday Party this weekend.

The nonprofit organization "invests in the lives of children, youth and families who live in under-resourced communities by working together, building the healthy support systems they need to thrive and empowering them to create lasting change in their own lives and communities," according to the Eight Waves website.

As part of its mission, Eight Waves hosts quarterly community birthday parties for those who may struggle with personal or financial circumstances.

The Community Birthday Party will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at the West Orange Dream Center, 1136 E. Plant St., Winter Garden.

The event will include a bounce house, barbecue, balloon animals and face painting.

Although The Elks Lodge typically sponsors the parties, this one is a special combined effort with Hope Church. The event will serve as the church's serve day, where the organization participates in 11 projects throughout the year to benefit the city in different capacities.

Hope Church will be offering baptisms for anyone in the community at the event.
