Mecatos Bakery & Cafe hosting grand opening in Ocoee

Mecatos Bakery & Cafe is celebrating a new location in the city of Ocoee.

Mecatos is known for its Columbian specialty coffee and bakery.

The menu includes items such as arepas, empanadas, specialty breads, cachapas, pastries, smoothies, frappes and other coffee beverages. 

Established in 2015 by Edwin Lurduy, the current CEO, the cafe opened the doors of its first location in April 2016.

Since then, the business has grown to serve Orlando with four locations in Lake Nona, downtown Orlando, Lake Underhill and Waterford Lakes, respectively. 

The business has three additional stores under construction in Ocoee, Metrowest and Hoffner Avenue, respectively. 

The Ocoee location will host a grand opening celebration and networking event from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 29. 

The location can be found at 10151 W. Colonial Drive, Ocoee.

The grand opening event will offer guests complimentary mimosas, sangrias, appetizers and live music.
