The town of Oakland is holding its inaugural farmers market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, in front of the Healthy West Orange Arts & Heritage Center, 126 W. Petris Ave. Additional markets will be held on the second and fourth Thursdays.
The town is partnering with Orange Blossom Market Co. to secure quality vendors offering fresh produce, specialty items, homemade food, and arts and crafts.
The first market will include the following vendors: J and V Designs; Auntie GG’s Crafts; LoveHopeGrow; Sweet Life Cookies; Pinesmoke Bee Company; Italian Hills; Honoré Co.; Steve Gordon Pottery; Dandies Candies; Anchors Up Coffee Co.; Ya Mothas Bread Co.; Heather Kay Candles; Doña Lucy’s Tamales; Bella’s Blooms; Fruits of Your Labor LLC; Chicago Style Tasty Giardiniera; LiveGood; Sweet Ice Brazilian Gourmet; Sally’s Delectables; Flamazing JP; Signature Bakehouse,; Bee’s Plants State Farm; Watercolor Painting by Michele Hebert; Bronwyn Merritt Art; Gilded Artistry; The Ivie Nurse; DK Custom Gifts; Husband and Wife Spices of Life LLC; Twisted Sips; TJE Seafood; Tranquiliti Healing Arts & Wellness; Hot Dog Therapy; Soluna Taco; It’s in the DNA Coffee; HM Cattle Co.; Donut NV Winter Garden; and Oakland General.
Produce partners are Frog Song Organics and the Lake Dora Courtyard Produce.
Live music will be featured on the heritage center porch on select dates. Mud Rooster, a rock, folk, pop, country and blues band, will perform Thursday.
Market attendees can park in the field on West Petris and North Cross Street, along the north side of Briley Avenue near Speer Park, and in the grass parking surrounding Speer Park.
