A 41-year-old Winter Garden man was found dead in a 2023 Tesla Model Y after it became airborne while speeding southbound on Tiny Road, north of Green Orchard Ave. in Horizon West, according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Tesla traveled off the roadway and struck a fence, before entering a field, hitting a tree and finally coming to a stop in this single-vehicle incident.

Although the driver, who was found wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead on the scene, the matter of when he died or when the crash occurred remains under investigation by the highway patrol.
