Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Windermere resident Erin Huntley to the Florida Virtual School Board of Trustees.
“I am grateful to have the trust of Gov. DeSantis to help shape the future of education in our state,” Hunrley said. “As a mom of three and someone deeply committed to expanding educational opportunity, I understand how vital it is that families have access to high-quality virtual learning options. I look forward to bringing that perspective to the Florida Virtual School Board of Trustees and helping ensure every student has the tools they need to succeed.”
Huntley is the current chair of the Orange County Republican Party. She served as an alternate delegate for President Donald J. Trump in 2024 and as one of 30 Floridians representing Trump in the Electoral College. She was elected chair of the Republican Party of Florida's Chairman’s Caucus, representing all 67 county chairs on the RPOF Executive Board.
Huntley in January announced her candidacy for Florida House of Representatives District 45.
“I’m running … to be a voice for the families of District 45,” she said. “I'm not a politician. I spent my career in the private sector and human resources — solving real-world problems and working to make a difference in people's lives. As a mom of three, I know what is at stake and every decision I make will be rooted in the values that matter the most to the families of Orange and Osceola counties."
