Wildlife drive celebrates 10 years

The Orange Audubon Society will be at the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive Sunday, May 4, to join the celebration.

A transformed landscape now teeming with wildlife, the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive is celebrating 10 years. It has become one of Florida’s premier birding and wildlife viewing destinations and has welcomed more than150,000 visitors annually.

The district will celebrate its decade from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, with support from Orange Audubon Society. Along the 11-mile route, volunteers will help visitors spot wildlife, share insights about the restoration work, and hand out giveaways.

The drive is at 2850 Lust Road, Apopka.
