Winter Garden started its Fourth of July celebrations early with the 21st annual All American Kids Parade and Breakfast, which began at 8 a.m. Friday, July 4, downtown.
As always, parade participants and their families fueled up with an old-fashioned pancake breakfast at the Winter Garden Masonic Lodge. Then, kids were able to decorate their bikes, scooters and wagons with patriotic decorations provided by the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation, and even sign up to receive a free bike helmet from the Winter Garden Police Department.
After some words from community leader Austin Arthur and Winter Garden Mayor John Rees, a presentation of colors by the Heroes of 1776, an opening prayer, and a performance of the national anthem by West Orange High School student Gabriella Turri, the parade took to Plant Street — much to the delight of attendees.
