A Windermere High School employee has been placed on administrative leave following allegations of misconduct.

Principal Andrew Leftakis made the announcement at 5:51 p.m. Monday, May 19, just hours after a gun report disrupted school operations earlier in the day.

“I can assure you I take all allegations very seriously, and there is an ongoing investigation by the (OCPS) Office of Professional Standards,” Leftakis told parents. “Although I cannot discuss employee matters, please know this person will not be on campus during the investigation.”

Leftakis did not disclose whether the employee was a teacher.
