Theatre at St. Luke's United Methodist Church soon will perform "The Prom."

The performance will be high-energy, mixed with comedy and love.

"The Prom" follows a group of self-absorbed stars who rally behind a teen from Indiana who's barred from bringing her girlfriend to prom.

"What begins as a publicity stunt quickly transforms into something deeper, as unlikely friendships form and a community is challenged to grow," St. Luke's announced. "Filled with humor, dazzling music and heartfelt moments, "The Prom" is a story about courage, compassion and what it truly means to show up for one another."

The performance is rated PG-13 due to profanity, harmful slurs and sexual references.

Theatre at St. Luke's will be hosting performances from Thursday, Aug. 6, through Sunday, Aug. 16, at Founder's Hall, located at 4851 S. Apopka-Vineland Road, Orlando.

Ticket prices vary from $15 to $45.
