Following clinching the district championship, Horizon High boys volleyball team shined in its regional quarterfinal game against Lake Nona High Thursday, May 1. The Hawks won the game 3-1 (25-11, 25-17, 21-25, 25-16).
Offensively the team was led by brothers Esteban and Emmanuel Tascon. Esteban Tascon led the team with 3.5 kills per set, totaling to 14, and Emmanuel Tascon also recorded 3.3 kills per set with 13 total. Senior Joshua Robinson led Horizon in blocking with five, which played an important role in the team’s domination.
The team advanced to the regional semifinals against Harmony Tuesday, May 5, with a 24-3 record and No. 3 ranking in Florida.
