WINTER GARDEN  Calling all thespians and aspiring actors and actresses: Auditions for Play-In-A-Day 2016 — presented by Beth Marshall Presents — are being held Sunday, June 26, at the Garden Theatre in downtown Winter Garden.

According to its website, BMP is “an independent production company producing theatrical, dance, music, multi-media performance art and all things creative in arts & entertainment," and the Play-In-A-Day is BMP's "annual community-favorite theatrical event."

This year's PIAD will benefit both the District 3 Thespians and the Pulse Orlando staff, said Beth Marshall, producing artistic director of BMP.

Last year’s PIAD featured more than 100 artists coming together to create short plays presented over the course of 24 hours, according to the BMP website.

Auditions will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, and those interested in auditioning are asked to prepare a one-minute monologue of any genre that showcases their best work. They must also ensure that they will be available Friday, Sept. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. as well as Saturday, Sept. 24, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The roles are unpaid.

To schedule an appointment, email [email protected] no later than noon on Saturday, June 25, and request a time slot.
