ORANGE COUNTY  Around 4:50 a.m. May 12, Ocoee Police Officer Chris Bonner, 29, was taking police action with sirens and lights activated in his marked Ocoee Police Department car on Orange Blossom Trail.

As he drove north toward Holden Avenue, Yahaira Castro Montalvo, 26, of Orlando, entered that avenue's intersection with OBT on a green light, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Their cars collided, leading to the police vehicle going off the road and hitting a fire hydrant and pole. Both suffered serious injuries and were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
