WINTER GARDEN  Later this year, visitors to downtown Winter Garden will be able to dine on Tex-Mex cuisine and enjoy a drink or two rooftop when The Whole Enchilada opens.

Demolition began this week on the old Encore Furniture store at 129 W. Plant St., where the new restaurant will be going. Sandwiched between Adjectives Market and The Sacred Olive, only the old facade remains.

The Whole Enchilada owners are planning a remodel, which will feature a ground-floor restaurant and rooftop bar and patio.

The restaurant's menu includes Tex-Mex favorites like tostadas, taco baskets, quesadillas and burritos. It also features the "ex-wife challenge," in which guests have 45 minutes in one sitting to complete a 6-pound burrito and side of chips. If successful, the meal is free and the guest will receive a TWE shirt and a forever gift of remembrance at The Whole Enchilada Fresh Mexican Grill.

The restaurant is expected to open this fall.
