Patricia "Miss Patti" (Luke) Vernosky died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, at Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Florida, after suffering less than a week of pneumonia. She will be celebrating her 78th birthday with beloved family and friends at our Lord’s table in Heaven. Our Father granted her a beautiful and peaceful passing following her 43-year struggle with rheumatoid arthritis.

Patricia is survived by her three children, Cory Vernosky of Winter Garden, Charles and wife Loura Vernosky of Snohomish, Washington, Cindy Vernosky and husband Vincent Brown of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two grandsons, Brandon Vernosky, United States Air Force, and Sean Sobik of Minneapolis; brother, William “Pete” Luke; sister-in-law, Linda “Rusti” Luke; sister-in law, Helen Luke; two beloved nieces; and four treasured nephews.

Patricia is preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Wheeler Luke, and father, Orbie D. Luke, both of Orlando; sister, Peggy Luke of Clewiston; and brother, Orbie “Junior” Luke of Tallahassee.

Patricia was born on Sept. 23, 1940, in Clewiston, Florida, to Orbie and Ruby Luke. She graduated from Edgewater High School in 1957. She married her one and only love, Charles Vernosky Sr., in 1958.

After raising her three children, she worked sewing clothes at her mother’s dressmaking and alteration shop in Orlando for 24 years.

On June 1, 1998, she found her special purpose in life at Health Central Hospital. She joyfully contributed 25,000 hours of service in the volunteer auxiliary, bringing compassion, cookies, a mischievous and wicked sense of humor, laughter and love to every single individual who was fortunate enough to cross her path. She will be deeply missed by all.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at First United Methodist Church of Winter Garden, 125 N. Lakeview Ave., Winter Garden, with a reception to follow. The Rev. Russell T. Belcher will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Miss Patti's life.

In lieu of flowers, her children ask, in honor of their mother’s wishes, that donations be made to Health Central Hospital Auxiliary, 10000 W. Colonial Drive, MP8313, Ocoee, FL 34761.
