The Windermere High School marching band earned a spot in finals competition and placed sixth overall at the Bands of America 2022 Orlando Regional Championship, which took place Saturday, Oct. 22, at Camping World Stadium.
The band joined 27 others from as far away as Texas, Oklahoma and North Carolina on the field for a day of marching, music and movement.
After the preliminary performances, the top 12 bands returned in finals competition.
The competing bands included: Countryside High School, Florida; Olympia High School, Florida; Newberry High School, Florida; Oakleaf High School, Florida; Tocoi Creek High School, Florida; Washington High School, Oklahoma; Cambridge High School, Georgia; University High School, Florida; Cary High School, North Carolina Palm Harbor University High School, Florida; PK Yonge Developmental Research School, Florida; Ponte Vedra High School, Florida; Gainesville High School, Florida; Seminole High School, Florida; James Bowie High School, Texas; Windermere High School, Florida; Dorman High School, South Carolina West Harrison High School, Mississippi; Oviedo High School, Florida; Wando High School, South Carolina; Sebastian River High School, Florida; Stoneman Douglas High School, Florida; Tarpon Springs High School, Florida; North Cobb High School, Georgia; Buchholz High School, Florida; G. Holmes Braddock Senior High School, Florida; Cass High School, Georgia; and Timber Creek High School, Florida.
