After-school activities at Orange County Public Schools will continue today, Tuesday, Aug. 29, but must end by 8 p.m., district officials said.

Similarly, after-school activities at The First Academy, Foundation Academy and Windermere Preparatory School also will end by 8 p.m.

Windermere High's Open House, which was scheduled for today, will be rescheduled to a future date to comply with the 8 p.m. deadline.

OCPS will make a decision on the cancellation of school for Wednesday, Aug. 30, sometime today. The primary decision point for any potential closure is if sustained wind speeds exceed 35 mph. That is the threshold for buses to operate safely on the roads. The current projected sustained wind speeds for the western parts of Orange County may exceed 35 mph.
