Town of Windermere to open time capsule

The capsule, sealed in 1975, will be opened at 6 p.m. Friday April 25, at Town Square, 520 Main St., Windermere.

The town of Windermere’s next Friday Food Truck Night will be one for the ages.

In addition to the delicious eats, live music by Lucky to Be and good company, this week’s event also will feature “Unsealed: Windermere’s Journey Through Time — 1975 to 2025.” This special community event marks 50 years since Mayor Dean Kinzey buried a historic time capsule in the town of Windermere.

Mayor Jim O’Brien will welcome residents and guests at 6 p.m. before inviting Doris Kinzey Kilmain, daughter of Mayor Dean Kinzey, to join him in unveiling the time capsule. Together, they will open the container and share details on the preserved contents as they open them.
