Calling all budding entomologists: Oakland Nature Preserve will embark on an Insect Safari this weekend.

Learn more about all kinds of creepy crawlies from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, at the preserve, 747 Machete Trail, Oakland.

Led by entomologist Christy LeDuc, this is a fun, family suitable program during which attendees will learn about different native insects of Florida.

The program will start with a brief classroom presentation, following by a guided hike on the preserve, where attendees have the opportunity to see bugs up close and personal.

Participants are advised to take a reusable water bottle, wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Bug nets and containers will be provided.

Limited classroom space is available; register in advance here.
