Dr. Phillips High’s Student Body President Christiana Stubbs wanted to leave her mark as a Panther before heading to college.
Her idea was simple, yet heart-warming.
“I started (Panther Pride Day) because I wanted to bring together the Dr. Phillips High School community before I leave, so we can have a moment of celebration for the school, and celebrate the community, the alumni, the people here and the environment,” she said.
The event included games, activities, performances, bounce houses, a DJ and food trucks.
With dozens of people in attendance, lots of laughter and stories were shared.
While this was the first Panther Pride Day, the school hopes to make the event an annual occurrence.
“People are coming up to me and they’re excited to continue the event,” Stubbs said. “That makes me very happy.”
