Orange County is progressing on various projects on New Independence Parkway and Flemings and Ficquette roads.
On Flemings Road, curb and drainage installation, as well as based work has been completed from the end of the project limits to Eastmoor Drive.
Crews are continuing drainage installation toward Avalon Road and have begun utility installation in the area. The existing roadway has been removed within the closed area.
Work on Western Way also has started. The work includes curb removal, backfill placement and excavation at the pond.
In the New Independence Parkway area, Junior Davis has completed curb, soil cement and drainage installation from the Lake County line to Wincy Grove.
Soil cement work is progressing from Wincy Grove to Avalon Road.
Along New Independence Parkway and Avalon Road, drainage installation is complete, and road work has begun on Avalon Road.
In the area of Ficquette Road, Duke Energy is in the process of relocating utility poles and is expected to be clear of the area within a couple weeks.
Clearing also has begun on Ficquette Road and is anticipated to be completed within the next month.
Reams Pond clearing operations are complete. Drainage work is scheduled to begin in July, along with excavation of Reams Pond. Excavated material will be used as backfill for Ficquette Road.
