Lions defeat Royals in offensive shootout

Foundation Academy and The First Academy combined for 90 total points Friday, Oct. 27.

We called this our Game of the Week, and boy did it not disappoint!

Foundation Academy and The First Academy treated football fans to an offensive shootout, with the Lions getting the win 49-41 over the Royals Friday, Oct. 27, at home. What’s more, the win secures Foundation a spot in the playoffs.

After a relatively quiet first quarter that ended with Foundation up 7-0, the scoring opened up in the second half. Both the Lions and Royals found the end zone twice, giving Foundation a 21-14 lead heading into halftime.

The scoring continued in the second half, and every time the Lions seem to be pulling away, the Royals battled back to keep the game close.

With four minutes left in the game, TFA pulled within 8 points, 49-41. However, Foundation was able to hold on for the victory.
