Winter Garden Art Association calls for artists for "Florida Roots: Land, Light & Life" exhibit

Submissions will be accepted from Wednesday, July 1, through Wednesday, July 8.

The Winter Garden Art Association is calling for artists for its next exhibit, "Florida Roots: Land, Light & Life."

The exhibit will feature artists celebrating the beauty, character and spirit of Florida through artwork inspired by the state's wildlife, wetlands, coastlines, orange groves, culture and history. 

All media forms are accepted. Submissions will run from Wednesday, July 1, through Wednesday, July 8. 

The opening reception will take place place Thursday, Aug. 6. 

The exhibit also will feature "Orange Grove," an original Florida Highwaymen painting by Roy A. McLendon Sr., "known for capturing Florida's natural beauty with bold color and expressive brushwork," WGAA officials said online. "Join us as we celebrate the land, light and life that make Florida unique."
