Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream now has a new home in Horizon West.

The popular ice cream shop opened Aug. 30, with a soft opening set to last until the middle of September.

Kelly Seidl, owner of the ice cream shop, said she hopes to open with regular hours starting Sept. 20. She said so far, business has been great.

"We are in the process of getting our footing and getting everyone trained, but so far, everything is going really well," Seidl said.

The location is looking for an assistant manager and several scoopers.

Horizon West is the shop's fourth location. The company also employs an ice-cream truck that caters events and attends food truck round-ups across Orlando.

“I just love the community here," Seidl said. "We love being close to schools and just being in the heart of the neighborhood. I love the tight-knit feel."

She said the spot also attracted her because she hadn't seen many ice cream shops in the area.

The brick-and-mortar shop first opened in 2015 in Audubon Park, although Seidl and her husband sold their ice cream in farmer's markets and in the ice cream truck even before.

Kelly's is known especially for their menu, including unique monthly flavors.

The September flavors of the month will feature salted caramel turtle, unicorn tracks, midnight crunch, pumpkin spiced latte and many more, as well as classic year-round flavors such as strawberry, butter pecan and toasted coconut.

The new location can be found in Central Park in Bridgewater Village.
