A three-person team from Horizon West earned one of six top spots in Jersey Mike’s Subs National G13 Sub-Making Championship, to be held next month at the company’s National Conference in Orlando.

Dakota Thompson, Victoria Cortese and Chris Morrone will compete against teams from Boca Raton; Camp Pendleton, California; Brick Township, New Jersey; Barnegat, New Jersey; and Southington, Connecticut.

To reach the finals, the trio competed against nearly 2,500 teams from across the country. Collectively, the Horizon West team — based at the location at Westside Shoppes — has nine years of experience working at Jersey Mike’s.

Jersey Mike’s created the G13 Competition to reinforce the importance of safety, brand quality and speed of service with the company’s team members.

The winning team will bring home $90,000 — or $30,000 each. Second prize is $20,000 per person, and third prize is $10,000 per person.
