This year’s Windermere Run Among the Lakes had more than 1,200 participants — the most ever.
Participants enjoyed beautiful weather for this year’s Windermere Run Among the Lakes.
Andie Hawkanson took her own advice while cheering on the participants at the halfway mark of the 5K.
Kim Van Der Riet, of Windermere, was the first-place winner for the 10K in the female 40-49 bracket.
The overall female 5K winners were Caroline Gipe, of Tampa (first place); Annabella Ekebergh, of Windermere (second place); and Maira Manley, of Winter Garden (third place).
The overall male 5K winners were Duncan Ryan, of Perth (first place); Alec Ahola, of Windermere (second place); and Jeffrey Boley, of Winter Garden third place).
Francisco Sierra and Steve Dimino sold town of Windermere merchandise at the Run Among the Lakes booth.
Will Taliaferro, Claire O’Malley, Dubai Abu Soud, Shante Mendez and Gabriella Alverio volunteered at the event.
Kailey Acevedo lifted weights at the GYMGUYZ booth for a quick warm up before the start of the run.
Liz Duer and Megan Aulie cooled down after crossing the finish line.
Liliana Pilgrim showed off the Southwest Orange Observer newspaper that featured her on the front page.
Gethin Huckle and his 6-year-old daughter, Thea, participated together in the Run Among the Lakes.
A record number of runners and walkers flooded the streets of Windermere for the 2023 Windermere Run Among the Lakes, held Saturday, Oct. 14, in the town of Windermere.
Participants enjoyed both 10K and 5K runs, a kids fun run, plenty of booths and a beautiful morning of healthy fun.
The 10K overall winners were Joseph Trujillo (male, 38:21.14) and Kelly Still (female, 42:56.81).
The 5K overall winners were Duncan Ryan (male, 19:10.32) and Caroline Gipe (female, 20:49.48).
